Thomas Willard Happel, 57, of Woodstock died unexpectedly Friday, March 10, 2017.
He was the beloved husband of Penny Larkin Happel.
He was born October 2, 1959 in Catonsville, MD, the son of the late Richard and late Ann (Doty) Happel.
He was a sales manager for Merkle Monument Co. of Parkville. He was an avid golfer, lover of all sports especially Ravens & Orioles, and dedicated coach and volunteer to all his son's athletic endeavors: EDRECO Baseball, Howard Co. Youth Baseball, Lochearn Community Club, Loyola High School swimming & water polo programs, and St. Bonaventure University swimming. He was the 2016 Willow Springs Golf Course men's league co-champion; and a member of Old Hickory Country Club in Ft. Myers, FL.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son Christopher Thomas Happel and partner Lauren Vollmer and had recently become "Pop Pop" to Henry Christopher Happel. Brothers Rick & wife Terri Happel, Ken & wife Cindy Happel, and Steve & wife Diane Happel; father-in-law Tim & wife Jean Larkin; brothers/sisters (in-law) Roy & wife Debbie Danz, and Tim & wife Deb Larkin. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces & nephews and many close friends, notably lifelong friends Steven Hofmeister and Jay Parson.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Church of the Resurrection, 3175 Paulskirk Dr. Ellicott City, MD 21042.
Friends may pay respect in Church 10-11am with Funeral mass to follow at 11am.
