Theresa A. Martin 88, passed away on March 12, 2018 at Inspirations Memory Care in Westminster.
Born on March 7, 1930 in Baltimore City. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Dyson and the late Annie Elizabeth Pomeroy Dyson.
She was the wife of the late Philip R. Martin of 55 years who passed in 2004.
She was a 1949 graduate of St. Martin’s Catholic School. She lived in Sykesville, Maryland raising five children and kept the books for her husbands’ excavating company. She enjoyed cooking especially for Sunday dinners and holidays, sewing, flower and vegetable gardening and canning. She spent many weekends at horse shows with her husband and children. Most of all enjoyed raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her 4 children and their spouses, Philip E. and Paula Martin of New Windsor, MD Joseph A. and Lisa M. Martin of Westminster MD, Barbara A. Carr of Westminster MD and Pamela M. Martin of Toano VA., four grandchildren Joey and wife Emily Martin, Elizabeth Martin, Rachel Carr and Nick Martin. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her 2 brothers Jim Dyson and Francis Dyson sisters Mary Rose and Audrey Kratzer as well as her son Richard Michael (Rick) Martin.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 5-8 PM at Burrier Queen Funeral Home 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Sykesville, MD (Beside South Carroll High School). Where a Catholic Prayer service will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 10 AM.
Interment to follow at Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ann’s name may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave. Westminster, MD 21784 or Winfield Volunteer Fire Department, 1320 W. Old Liberty Rd Sykesville, MD 21784.
