Sylvia Cecire

Sylvia Cecire was born on July 28, 1937 and lived 87 full years. A native of Long Island, Sylvia lived in New Market, Maryland with Bernard Cecire, the love of her life and husband of 68 years. She passed from this world on May 18, 2025 at the Dove House with family around her. Sylvia lived her Roman Catholic faith by seeking to help those who needed help, working for years as a volunteer to assist the mentally disabled and, after raising her son Kenneth Cecire and daughter Susan Mannix, later earned her B.S. in Psychology and her Master of Social Work degrees from Stony Brook University. She went on from there to work as a Social Worker to assist the dying, the bereaved, and those suffering substance abuse. Sylvia is survived by Bernard, Kenneth and his wife Veronica, Susan and her husband Richard, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, cherished extended family, and many good lifetime friends.
