Stanley D. Davis

Stanley D. Davis, Sr., age 88 of Sykesville, MD, passed away on July 29, 2025, at Dove House. Born on November 5, 1936, in Frederick, MD, he was a meat cutter who worked for numerous grocery stores throughout his career.

Stanley was known for his unwavering passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles and cars, often enjoying the simple pleasure of tinkering and fixing vehicles. His hands-on skills matched his warm personality, making him well-liked among friends and co-workers alike.

He is survived by his daughter, Shari Kick and Scott of Sykesville, MD; his son, Dan Davis and Carissa of Manchester, MD; and his son, Stan Davis, Jr. and Laurie of The Villages, FL. Stanley was a loving grandfather to Christina and her husband Justin Peterson, Jacob Kick, Skylar and Ethan Davis, as well as four great-grandchildren: Scott, Cullen, Lucas, and Trevor.

Stanley is preceded in death by his beloved spouse, the late Mary Davis, and was also the son of the late Dewey D. Davis and the late Minnie E. (Foreman) Davis.

Visitation will be held on July 31, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd., Sykesville, MD 21784. The funeral service will take place on August 1, 2025, at 12:00 PM, also at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mt. Airy, MD.
