Shirley Ann Findeisen (nee Quidas), age 90, of Sykesville, MD, formerly of Randallstown, MD., died on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Bridginglife (Dove House) in Westminster, MD., surrounded by her family.

She was born on October 30, 1934, in Denton, Maryland, the daughter of the late James Leroy Quidas and the late Nora Quidas (nee Cohee).

Shirley was a longtime resident of Randallstown, MD, and Orrtanna, PA, most recently of Fairhaven Community of Sykesville, MD; she graduated from Southern High School in 1952, Towson Teacher’s College in 1956 and received her master’s in education from Western Maryland College. Lifelong Educator, taught in Baltimore City and Baltimore County Public Schools for over 30 years, working at such schools as Ben Franklin Elementary/Middle School, Bedford and Owings Mills Elementary Schools retiring as an Assistant Principal from Glyndon Elementary School; donated her personal time to such groups as First Step and the Literacy Council of Adams County, she was a voracious reader.

She was the wife of the late Herbert Wilmer Findeisen, Jr., married 6/15/1962 until his death on February 14, 2009; for 47 years.

Mother of James H. Findeisen and wife Roseann of Manasquan, NJ, Steven M. Findeisen and wife Robin of Westminster, and Herbert W. Findeisen III and wife Kathleen of Mt. Airy, MD. Grandmother of Ryan James (Kaitlin Morley Fiancée) of New York City and Gregory Joseph of Manasquan, Emma Magdalena Riebling and husband Ryan of York, PA and Lara Elizabeth of Westminster; Douglas Kyle of Copenhagen Denmark, Victoria Findeisen Thompson and husband Kyle, and great grandsons Rhett Thompson and Emmett Thompson of Centreville, MD.

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School) on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 2:00 PM- 6:00 PM; with a private graveside service at Lake View Memorial Park.
