Rod Edward Fansler, 81, of Winfield, MD passed away February 15, 2026 after a long and hard-fought battle with multiple illnesses. Born September 22, 1944, in Winchester, VA to the late Guy Fansler and the late Alice Fansler (nee Russell), Rod was a graduate of Yorktown High School. He enlisted in the US Navy and honorably served his country during the War in Vietnam. He was an accountant by trade and never had an audit failure throughout his whole career. He loved spending time in the Blue Ridge Mountains, listening to country music, learning about history, and watching football. Rod was a Christian who always lived for his family first.

He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Linda, his daughter Beth Borko and husband Andy of Beaverdam, VA, his daughter Grace Boudreau and husband Alec of Columbia, MD, his three grandchildren: Kelly Borko and husband Tyler Elder, Anthony Borko and partner Kristen Brown, and Clara Boudreau, and his three great-grandchildren: Roarke Elder, Karlina Elder, and Ty Elder. Also, his brothers and best friends: Guy (Phil) Fansler and Don Fansler.

The Family will receive friends at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory at 1212 West Old Liberty Road Sykesville, MD 21784 from 2-4pm with a service at 4 PM on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
