Robert (Bob, Bobby) of Westminster, Md. passed away Wednesday evening at
Carroll Hospital. He was surrounded in love by his Son, Daughter and Wife. After
struggling with COPD, and Sleep Apnea, Bob joined our Lord very peacefully.
Bob was born in Washington, D.C. where he lived until high school graduation in
1959. Bob joined the United States Air Force. After boot camp he married. He
and his wife Barbara then traveled to MacDill AFB in Tampa, Florida for the entire
5 years of his enlistment. While in Tampa they had their first son, Bobby. Bob
was involved with the Cuban Missile Crisis while at MacDill. He was a cook for the
Bomber and Fighter Pilots on the flight line and loved it. Bob was always very
proud to have served his country.
In 1964 he returned home and resided in College Park, Md. for 44 years until
moving to Westminster. Son number two, Ronnie, was born and then several
years later Bob got his girl, Christy. He loved his kids with all his heart.
Bob worked as a Salesman for Addressograph Multigraph Corp in the ink and
ribbon division, and eventually became Branch Manager in Baltimore. When
computers took over, that division folded and he went to work for Giant Food
where he continued and retired in 2004.
Robert was the last of the “original Leonardi Family.” Nona and Pop married and
came to U.S. from Italy and became Citizens. Predeceased by: Marco Sr. (Father,)
Rosa (Mom,) Dominic and Marco, Jr. (Brothers,), Mary Waidman and Frances
Salak, (Sisters.) Robert also is predeceased by his Son, Bobby.
