Rita "Bushie" Anne Sisk

On November 8, 2025, Rita “Bushie” Anne Sisk, 72, of Sykesville passed unexpectedly. She was the beloved wife of Patrick Sisk for 51 years, the cherished mother of Meghan Messer (Greg) and Carrie Ramsel (Ryan), the loving sister of Frank Iwancio (Christine) and devoted grandmother to Bryce and Coltyn Messer, and Wrenley and Brandon Ramsel. Preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Sophie Iwancio.

Born Rita Iwancio, on October 15, 1953 in Baltimore City, she worked for the Social Security Administration for over 40 years; retiring in 2011. She spent her retired years doting on her family, going on adventures with her girlfriends, walking her dog Darla, and attending exercise classes. Being a Grandma was her greatest joy, often spoiling her grandkids, and granddog Sadie, with unconditional love that she couldn’t help but boast about to anyone who would listen. She was the greatest wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend and Bushie who will be deeply missed.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 5-7pm at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Rd, Sykesville, MD 21784 (beside South Carroll High School), where funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 10:30am.

The family encourages everyone wear the color purple at Thursday’s service to celebrate the life of Rita.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Rita Sisk’s name to The Carroll County Humane Society 2517 Littlestown Pike, Westminster, MD 21158
