Raymond W. Ganske, age 88, of Sykesville, died Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at his home.
He was born February 20, 1926 in Ocqueoc, Michigan, the son of the late William Ganske and the late Caroline Wemert Ganske.
He was the husband of Virginia Louise Ganske (nee Styles) for 12 years married on June 9, 2002 and the late Freda Bernice Bittle Ganske for 53 years married October 26, 1946 and died September 22, 2000.
Served in WWII in US Signal Corp in the South Pacific-Korea December 1, 1945-December 26, 1946, Honorable Discharge; worked as a Farmer and Carpenter for many years then was employed by Black and Decker until his retirement. He enjoyed watching the Orioles and golf and eating at Capt. Dan’s in Eldersburg.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Timmy R. and Laura Ganske of Smallwood, daughter and son-in-law Judy R. and Larry Little of Westminster, daughter in law Lynn Ganske –Arnold and husband George of Mt. Airy, MD.
Brother of- Erwin Ganske, Aram Ganske, Evelyn Wolgast, Elaine Orcutt, Carol Brownell all of Michigan, and the late brother Elva Ganske and late sister Joyce Ganske.
Also survived by 6 grandchildren-Jody Hudson, Terri Little, Larry Little, Timmy Ganske, Jr., Hollie Shelton and Jessica Ganske and great grandchildren-Bryan Hudson, Tyler Hudson, Jamie Wright (Eskins), Cori Kircher, Ty Little, Camden Ganske and Avery Ganske, Tara Shelton, Aurora Shelton, Felicity Shelton and Micha Shelton and one great great grandchild-Bryan Hudson, Jr.
He was predeceased by sons Raymond W. Ganske, Jr. and William R. Ganske.
Also survived by 4 stepchildren, several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville (Beside South Carroll High School) on Sunday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM; where Funeral Service will be held on Monday August 11, 2014 at 10:00 AM with Rev. O.F. “Bud” Kibbe officiating.
Interment will be in Grace Methodist Church Cemetery, Upperco, MD.
