He was the spouse of Rhoda Catherine Evans Ripley
He was born June 1, 1925 in Howard County, MD the son of the late Samuel B and Ella Augusta Leatherwood Ripley.
Mr. Ripley was retired from Springfield State Hospital. He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the United States Navy on the SS John B. Lennon. Mr. Ripley is a Life Member of both the American Legion Gold Star Post 191, MT. Airy, MD and The Westminster Elks Club #2277.
Surviving him besides his wife are his Children and their spouses: Donna Jean Ripley Fleming and Husband Gilbert of Finksburg, Joan Frances Ripley Henley of Woodbine, Francine Ripley Dorsey and Husband Tom Dorsey, Jr. of Woodbine.
Also survived by brother: Robert Ripley of Sykesville Grandchildren: Michelle Lee Fleming and fiancée CB Blevins , David Ripley Henley, Katie Rebecca Henley, Tyler Nicholas Dorsey, Claudia Marie Dorsey and Kyle Owen “Karl” Dorsey. Devoted Friend: Talmadge Balance.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday June 17, 2003 10 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with the Rev. Fred Eckhardt officiating. Interment will be in Morgan Chapel Cemetery, Woodbine, MD
The family will receive friends at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home on Monday June 16, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM where an American Legion Memorial Service will take place at 7:30 PM.
