Orlando Kibbe
February 26, 1931 — April 24, 2024
Rev. O. F. “Bud” Kibbe, 93, of Mt. Airy, MD passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.
He was born February 26, 1931, in Changewater, NJ the son of the late Orlando A. Kibbe and the late Anna Rose Kibbe (nee Tomb).
Bud was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean conflict, after serving in the Army, he went to Wesley Junior College, then The American University before going to Wesley Theological Seminary and the Lutheran Seminary. Rev. Bud then went to be a Minister in The United Methodist Church for 45 years serving churches in Washington, DC, Carroll County, MD and Baltimore County, MD.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Mt. Airy Kiwanis.
He is survived by his sister Rose Ann Gulick, 3 nephews and 5 nieces.
Bud was preceded in death by his brother James William Kibbe and sister Ruth Margaret Wyckoff.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Road Sykesville, MD 21784 (beside South Carroll High School).
Funeral service will be on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 11 AM with a gathering from 9 am – 11 AM at Montgomery United Methodist Church 28325 Kemptown Rd, Damascus, MD 20872.
Interment to follow at Taylorsville Cemetery.
