Nancy Alder

Nancy Louise Alder 74 of Mt. Airy, MD, died Saturday June 16, 2012 after an extended illness at Lorien Assisted Living in Mt. Airy. She was born April 21, 1938 in Watersville (Howard CO) MD the daughter of the late Thomas Wilfred (Mr. Will) Fleming and the late Lottie Virginia Harrison Fleming. She attended Mt. Airy High School and was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church. She worked at Springfield State Hospital and numerous other nursing homes. Berkline Chair Upholstery and American Enka as a grid winder in Morristown, TN. She was a secretary with Boy Scout Troop #460, A Social Member of Mt. Airy Vol. Fire Company and Volunteered with the Mt. Airy Fire CO Ladies Auxiliary, She was an avid Bowler at Mt. Airy Lanes until she took ill in 2005. She enjoyed Country and Gospel Music. Surviving her are Sons Eddie Alder and Daughter-in-law Donna Duvall of Sykesville, Jaime Alder and Fiancé Heather Castle of Manchester, Tom and wife Fran Esworthy of Lisbon, Daughter Joyce and husband Kenneth Kubu of Damascus. Sister Ann Brown of Mt. Airy. Three Grandchildren Richard Blake Alder of Sykesville, Matthew and Morgan Alder of Westminster and Several Nieces and nephews. The family would like to express gratitude for the special care she received from Gilchrist Hospice Care. Funeral Services will be held Thursday June 21, 2012 11 AM Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd Winfield, MD 21784 with Interment to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday 7 to 9 PM.
