Lewis Thomas

Lewis F. Thomas, 51, of Taylorsville, Formerly of Hyattsville, MD died Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Carroll Hospice’s Dove House in Westminster. Born May 13, 1957, in Washington , DC , he was the son of the late Charles B. Thomas and Living- Gloria Ochsenreiter Thomas of New Windsor, MD. He was the companion of the late Denise Gubisch and former husband of Nancy Garner. He grew up in Hyattsville, MD and attended both Northwestern High School and High Point Senior High School . He had worked in construction his entire life and was currently employed with Visnic Homes of Rockville , MD. He is survived by his son, Jason F. Thomas and his wife, Kate; his daughter, Hollie Barnett and her husband, Chad; his siblings, Charles “Chant” Thomas and wife, Susanna; Cathy Moore and husband, Dan; Gloria “Ree” Gisriel and husband, Bill; and Bill Thomas. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Danny and Chris Moore; Ava Bastress and Michael Thomas; and Kyle and Emily Gisriel, and great-niece Alexis Bastress. The family will receive friends from 3-5 & 7-9 PM on Monday, April 20, 2009, at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.(Beside South Carroll High School). A funeral liturgy (Mass) will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at St. John’s Catholic Church, 43 Monroe Street, Westminster. Graveside Interment will be at Rock Creek Cemetery, Washington, DC on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 11:00 AM.
