Kenneth William Jasper, 92 of Sykesville passed peacefully on November 8, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Hazel Grace Sarigianis Jasper who passed on July 6,2025.
Born April 19, 1933, Ken was the son of the late William Jasper and Irene Cook Jasper of Baltimore MD. He graduated from Kenwood High School in 1950 and worked on the family farm for many years growing kale, tomatoes as well as raising hogs. After his mothers passing, Ken left farming and was employed by the Signode Corporation until his retirement. He married Mary (Sunny) Kaffl Schaub on April 2, 1978. Ken enjoyed time in Ocean City, taking Sunny, the kids and grandkids out to get chicken from Daytons and donuts from Laytons. He especially liked taking everyone to the Glyndon Volunteer Fire Department Ham and Oyster Dinners. After the passing of Sunny in 1997, he met Hazel at the survivors grief support group, they were married a short time later.
Kens time on the family farm translated into a lifelong love of gardening and cooking. He could often be found out in his yard on Peppermint Lane in Westminster picking enormous leaves of fresh kale for dinner. He enjoyed cooking and was known to make a delicious Apple Harvest cake. He was always on the hunt for a good recipe. After many years he and Hazel decided the time had come to consider moving to a retirement community, they selected Fairhaven in Sykesville, MD. Even though Ken no longer had a garden in the backyard, he continued to grow tomatoes and vegetables in pots. Ken had a knack for growing the best tomatoes, he always seemed to know just what they needed to produce huge, flavorful fruits. He was extremely proud to have won the trophy at Fairhaven for the best tomato overall.
Ken is survived by 4 stepchildren, Maria Schaub McGuire, Ruth (Bunny) Schaub, J. Christopher Schaub and Richard Schaub Jr. Grandfather to Nicholas Stanford, the late Mary Lauren Schaub, Phoebe Schaub Butler, Alexandra McIntosh Sengupta, Stephanie Shapiro, Ivan Schaub, Joseph Shapiro, Quinn Ivy, Shane Ivy, Faith Shapiro and Marlo Ivy, as well as great grandfather to Rayna, Edie and Phaedra Sengupta and Linnea and Shay Stanford.
