John Michael "Mike" Herbert

John Michael “Mike” Herbert, 80, of Westminster, MD passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, at home. Mike was the husband of Peggy Herbert for 49 years. Mike was born on April 16, 1945, in Baltimore Md the son of Dorothy and Roy Herbert.

Mike was blessed with 2 wonderful children, Michael Patrick and Dorothy Theresa. He has numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He is survived by sisters Mary Gemmill, Glenda Devage, Sissy and husband Dido Lamagda; brothers Bruz and wife Shirl Herbert and Tim and wife Terry Herbert. Many loving nieces and nephews as well as some forever friends whom he enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and visiting. Mike was an enthusiastic and talented cook; he enjoyed feeding his family and friends and sharing recipes.

Mike was predeceased by his oldest brother Richard Herbert.

Per Mike’s wishes, the family will have a Celebration of Life this summer at his home in Westminster, date to be determined.
