On Saturday January 18, 2014 Jesse Robert “Bob” Arrington of Dayton, MD passed into eternal life. He was born May 19, 1924 in Knoxville, TN. His parents were the late Vernon S. Arrington and the late Nell Powell Arrington. He was first married to Ellen Lowry, who died in 1974. By that marriage he had two children who are now deceased. The late James Arrington and late Debra Arrington Denice. Whose children are Grandchildren of Bob’s Ellen Denice, Joseph Denice II, Laurie Denice and Kelly Denice. He had three great-grandchildren.
In 1982 , Bob was married to Faith Farver Arrington and became Dad to Robert D. Cole, Jr. and wife Kathryn and Christy and Robert Price. He was also grandfather to Carolyn, Jack, and Annie Cole and Megan and Ryan Price. He has been lovingly called “Poppy” for years, a name given to him by Megan Price. Bob is also survived by his sisters Betty Arrington Buck and Patricia Arrington Homan in addition to his many nieces and nephews and their children.
Bob was proud of his service from 1943-1946 in the Army Air Corps during WWII as a waist gunner on 19 missions in B-24’s. He was stationed in England. After returning home he attended and graduated from the University of MD and for 50 years was an employee of Singer-Link Company, now known as GSE Systems. He was a Packaging Engineer for the simulation training equipment that was made and delivered to both the military and nuclear power plants.
Bob was a proud member of Taylorsville U.M. Church and also the OWLS Senior Citizens Group at Ebenezer Church, Winfield, MD. He made friends easily and enjoyed reading, watching sports, planting and watching his flowers grow but most of all he enjoyed his home and watching the children grow up. He was a friend to all, and will be sorely missed, especially by his loving wife.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 24, 2014 11 AM at Taylorsville U.M. Church, 4356 Ridge Rd. Mt Airy, MD 21771. There will be viewing at the church 1 hour prior to Service.
