Janet Hood Barnes

Janet Hood Barnes, 89, of Winfield, MD passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025.
Born June 14, 1936, in Mt. Airy, MD the daughter of the late Foard Hood and the late Frances Moxley.
She was the wife of the late James Lowell Barnes.
Mrs. Janet was a charter member of the Winfield Ladies Auxiliary, where she held many positions including President for 10 years. She was also inducted into the Hall of Fame for LAMSFA and ACCVESA. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, ceramics, her Koi Pond, and really enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children Darrell Barnes & wife Susan, Debra Eaton & husband John, and Dennis Barnes; grandchildren James, Laura, Kayla and Jennifer. Also survived by numerous nieces & nephews.
Preceded in death by sister Joyce Gardner.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM with a Ladies Auxiliary service at 7 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD 21784 (beside South Carroll High School), where funeral service will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 11 AM.
Interment at Lake View Memorial Park.
