James V. (Jamie) Harrison, age 61, of Sykesville, MD passed away on Friday June 27, 2025, after a yearlong battle with AML. Jamie was born January 14, 1964, to Francis E. (Johnnie) Harrison Sr and Edwina (Dwinnie) Linthicum Harrison.

He leaves behind his very best friend & life partner of 20 yrs, Cris Bailey; brothers F. Edward Harrison Jr, Gregory (wife Kelly) Harrison, Joseph (wife Dana) Harrison, and one sister Christie Harrison, all of Union Bridge, MD; nieces Crystal (Derek) Harrison, Diana (Bernie) Anthony both of WV, Sarah Harrison of Frederick, Frances Shepard of Union Bridge, Lynda (Will) Harrison of New Windsor, Kelsie Harrison of WV, Amber (Brian) Kimmel of Keymar, Kaileigh Harrison of Abingdon; nephews Ryan Harrison of Frederick, Dominic (Sara) of Walkersville, Tyler Harrison of San Diego, CA, Jacob (Hannah) Harrison of WV, and Jonathan Baxley of Union Bridge. He was predeceased by his parents Francis/Johnnie in 2014 and Edwina/Dwinnie in 2015, brother John Franklin (aka Frankie) Harrison in 1996, his sister-in-law Charlene (Dolly) Harrison-Gunneaux in 2012, and May 1, 2025, by his beloved dog, Boner.

Jamie – lovingly referred to as Jacka$$ - grew up as the second youngest on the family farm just outside of Libertytown, MD. He graduated from Linganore High School in 1982. He was a proud member of US Army Reserves 558 Signal Co, Frederick, MD for 5 yrs and a loud and proud American his entire life. He got his CDL’s and started driving big trucks right out of high school. He was an over-the-road trucker for most of his life. The last 10 years Jamie was the owner/operator of JV Harrison Backhoe & Septic proudly driving his “Stool Bus” with his horn playing the ice cream man music as he and Cris rode around. Jamie lived life loud and politically incorrect with a huge heart, a big smile, always looking for just the “right” inappropriate comment to make someone laugh. He simply loved people, especially kids. He will be greatly missed by many.

Jamie did not want “a bunch of people crying” so he is being cremated, and a celebration of life will be held in the near future.
