Hollis A. Pickett (nee Henry), age 99, of Mt. Airy, Maryland, died Friday, May 31, 2013 at her home.
She was the wife of the late Harry Dewitt Pickett.
She was born August 10, 1913 in Mt. Olive, MD the daughter of the late Upton Lewis Henry and the late Effie Lee Fleming Henry.
She was a seamstress at Mt. Airy sewing factory. She was a member of St. Micheals R.C. Church. She enjoyed her vegetable gardening.
She is survived by daughter & Son-in-law Elinor & J. Wilfred Runkles of Monrovia, daughter Lilymae Pope of Mt. Airy. Preceded in death by brother Roscoe Henry and sister Carlene Henry and Gertrude Henry.
Also survived by grandchildren: Lynn Overby of Lucama, NC, Dale Runkles of Mt. Airy, Melinda Knott of Monrovia, Jeffrey Pope of Hampstead, Randy Pope of Walkersville, Sandra Holsinger of Mt. Airy and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM; where funeral service will be held on Wednesday June 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM; with Fr. Michael Ruane of St. Michaels R.C. Church in Poplar Springs officiating.
Interment Ebenezer U.M. Church Cemetery, Sykesville, MD.
