Harold Charles Niemeyer, Born on September 1, 1928 in Dallas, Pennsylvania to William F. and Elizabeth
Thomas Niemeyer. Preceeded in death by brothers William and Robert and Sister
Betty. Survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Jonnie Elizabeth. Harold
was the loving father of Chuck, Diane, Elaine, Mark and Tim and proud "Pop Pop"
to Justin, Lauren, Rob, Libby, Victoria, Jordan, Paige, Taylor, Danie, Andie
and Mikaela. And he was anxiously awaiting the soon arrival if his first great
grandchild, Benjamin.
After High school. Hal enjoyed a couple of years playing semi- professional
baseball for the Abilene Blue Socks followed by 4 years of service to our
country as an Army Tank Commander. Subsequently, He had a long career as a
machinist primarily for the Baltimore Sun newspaper. After retirement, he
worked for 10 years at the Rattlewood Golf Course. But Hal was known best for
his love of family and passion for the outdoors. Hal dedicated his life to
Christ in his early twenties and has faithfully served The Lord and others
since, whether it be as a Sunday School teacher, Youth Director, Deacon, Church
greeter or faithful friend.
Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD (Beside South Carroll High School) on Thursday March 27, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Friday March 28, 2014 from 12:00 noon-1:00 PM at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, 1402 N. Main Street, Mt. Airy, MD at which time Funeral will begin at 1:00 PM with Dr. Rev. Michael Trammell officiating.
Interment with military honors will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville, MD
