Gene Delton Smith, age 80, of Ijamsville, MD, died Friday, February 16, 2018 at his home.
Gene was born February 3, 1938 in Rocky Ridge, Maryland, the son of the late Jethro M. Smith and the late Esther J. Smith (nee Merritt).
Gene was a Retired Master Electrician; member of Bethesda U.M. Church, loved playing softball, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
He was the husband of Ninia Bell Smith (nee Coleman) of 58 years.
Father of Kevin G. Smith and Wanda S. Smith; siblings Carlisle J. Smith of Thurmont, MD, Sterling L. Smith of Hedgesville, WV, Arvella C. Anders of Mt. Airy, MD, Penny M. Anders and husband James W. Anders of Mt. Airy, MD, Chester V. Smith and wife Gloria A. Smith, Gary L. Smith and wife Betty Smith of Mt. Airy, MD, Ronald F. Smith and wife Joan Smith of Damascus, MD; granddaughter Whitney Lee Thompson of Delaware and numerous nieces and nephews.
