Francis Dorsey Ross

Francis Dorsey Ross, 90 of Littlestown, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23, 2025, surrounded by his family at home. Born August 22, 1935, in Howard County, MD he was the son of the late Maurice & and the late Marjorie Ross.

He was the beloved husband of Theresa Ross, his wife of 48 years.

After graduating from Sykesville High School, he enlisted and served as a medic in the army where he received a medal of honor. He then went on to work at Springfield Hospital for 40 plus years.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Wayne (Tina) Ross of West Chester, PA, Cindy (Pat) Callahan of Westminster, CO, Cheryl Hennick of Catonsville MD, Cindy (Richard) Stroh of Finksburg MD, and Tina Lewis (Kevin Heck) of Finksburg MD. Also survived by grandchildren John & Sarah Ross, Steven Ross, Sean & Dana Callahan, Megan & Kyle Meredith, Keith Hennick, Teri & Doug McTurner, Courtney Stroh, Tyler Stroh, Hunter Heck, Hailey Heck and 3 great-grandchildren.

He enjoyed gardening, concerts, photography, beach trips, cars, and family gatherings. He loved being outdoors and taking walks with his dog, Pepi, who is now reunited with him in heaven. He was loved by everyone who knew him. His children gave him the nick name St. Francis because he had the patience of a Saint. He left such an impact on whoever he was around and will be missed by many.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
