Faith J. Stanton

Faith J. Stanton, 90 of Mt. Airy, MD passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

She was the wife of the late Carlton Stanton for 48 years.

Born September 23, 1935, in Frederick, MD, the daughter of the late Harrison B. Myers and Daisy Myers.

Faith enjoyed cooking, playing cards, singing, and bingo and loved spending time with her family, especially at family picnics every Sunday. She enjoyed several trips and outings with her daughter; Virgie and they were known as “Thelma and Louise”. She was a long-time member of Simpson United Methodist Church for most of her life and served as an usher and several other church roles.

Devoted mother of Virgie Lettau & husband Ralph, Loretta Willis, Yvonne Newman & husband Melvin, daughter-in-law Janice Smith and sisters-in laws, Claire Dorsey, and Erma Prather. Loving grandmother of Beverly Cowan & husband Cleveland, Leslie Clipper & husband Eric, Dorwick Smith & wife Nicole, Robert E. Lee & wife Christine, Christopher Willis & wife Sarah, Jamie Willis, Marcus Willis, Shantee Long , Leroy Willis, Brian Willis & wife Kaylee, Kimber Lee, Brandon Stanton, Tanesha Newman, Melanie Newman, Lychelle Gamble & husband Alvin, Tasha Fulton, Crisie Smith. Also survived by several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by daughters Cecelia Smith and Phyllis Willis and sons Bruce Smith and Howard Smith, Jr.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 10 AM- 12 Noon with Celebration of Life service starting at 12 Noon at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory 1212 West Old Liberty Road Sykesville, MD 21784.
