Dr. Gary Scarborough
September 6, 1952 — March 10, 2018
Gary Lewis Scarborough, 65, of Stevensville, MD (formerly of Eldersburg, MD) went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 10, 2018 while at home with his family. He battled cancer for 3 years.
Gary was born September 6, 1952 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Robert D. Scarborough and the late Evelyn C. Scarborough. He was the devoted husband of Theresa "Terry" (nee Garcia) Scarborough, to whom he was married for almost 31 years.
Gary was a graduate of Woodlawn High school and continued his education getting a Master’s Degree at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He received his Doctorate of Ministry Degree from Freedom Bible College.
He was the Senior Pastor at Ashton Baptist Church for the past 17 years and worked for Innovative Medical Specialties with his brother. He was a successful professional musician, best known as the front man for the popular band, "Trigger Happy." Gary was a faithful follower of Christ, who loved being with his family and visiting with friends. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and enjoyed spending time on the water and at the beach. You will not find a better and more loving husband, father, and friend.
Surviving in addition to his beloved wife are daughters Lauren M. Bauer and husband Larry G. Bauer Jr. of Stevensville, MD; daughter, Hannah L. Scarborough of Stevensville, MD; brother, Robert D. Scarborough Jr. and wife Ana of Eldersburg, MD; nephew and niece, Michael D. Scarborough and wife Sharon, Rachel A. Ladson and husband Brian, along with their children; Matthew, Evan, Grace, and Daniel.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 16th from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm. at Burrier Queen Funeral Home, 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd Sykesville, MD 21784(Beside South Carroll High School). The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 17th at 11:00 am at Elders Baptist Church, 1216 Liberty Rd Sykesville, MD 21784.
