Davies Warfield Molloy, age 87, of Eldersburg, died Monday, March 3, 2014 at Charlestown Retirement Center in Catonsville.
He was born April 29, 1926 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late Leo and Katherine Linthicum Molloy.
He graduated from Cathedral School in 1940; Loyola High School in 1944, and Villanova College in 1949. He served in the US Marine Corps, during WWII from 1944-1946. While attending Loyola Blakefield he played Ice Hockey and made 1st team MSA. He entered the insurance business in 1949 in Washington, DC and then moved to Charlotte, NC to join his father and opened agency in 1950. He served as Special Agent for several companies until joining Federal Insurance Administration in 1975 and retiring in 1991. He taught insurance part time, volunteered at Carroll County Public Library, taking books to Sykesville Nursing Home, CCD home study grandchildren, worked Heritage of Hope Campaign in 1998, and was a Fledgling Lector at St. Joseph’s Church.
He was the husband of Rose Mary Molloy (nee Leonard).
He was the father of Leo F. Molloy of Eldersburg and Michael Molloy of Mt. Airy and the late Patrick A. Molloy and late Elizabeth Ann Molloy.
He was the brother of- Mary Lou Lucas of Charlotte, NC.
He was the grandfather of- Leo & Davies Molloy, Sarah and Christopher Molloy and Brittany Baker and Sara Jo Wink.
Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Community with Fr. David McGuigan, S.M. officiating.
Private Inurnment with Military Honors will be at Garrison Forest Veterans at a later date.
