Darlene H. Jessen

Darlene Harriett Jessen (nee Hollman), 82 of Sykesville, MD passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, August 20, 2026.

Darlene was born November 12, 1943, in Daniels, MD, the daughter of the late Alfred B. Hollman and the late Geneva D. Hollman (nee Pilcher). She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon and siblings, Jack, George and Francis.

She loved to travel, spend time with her family and lifelong friends. She also greatly enjoyed many friendships at Faith Lutheran Church, where she was an active member.

She is survived by her children Robyn Duafala & husband Ed, and Robert Jessen; grandchildren Genna, Brittany (Jared), Emily, Kimberly and Steven, and great grandson Bentlley. Also survived by many nieces & nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 28th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville MD 21784 (next to South Carroll High School). The funeral service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 1700 St Andrews Way Eldersburg, MD 21784 at 12:00 noon, officiated by Pastor Christopher Sperb. The service will be followed by a reception at the church’s reception hall.

Interment will be private.

Darlene’s family is grateful to all of her wonderful caregivers, especially Jess and Carol.
