Mr. Pobletts is the husband of Alma Fern Tucker Pobletts. They were married July 15, 1949 and just celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary.
Born May 24, 1927 in Randallstown, MD he was the son of the late Lemuel Milton and late Goldie Bowers Pobletts.
Devoted father of Jacqueline Pobletts of Sarasota, FL, Terri and Edwin Hull of Randallstown, Glenn and Denise Pobletts of Essex, Stacey and James Nickoles of Hampstead, and Jody Nickoles of Conowingo.
Loving Grandfather of Jeff, Tim, Todd, Tracey, Jamie, Samantha, Jimmy, Amanda, Joey, Angela and Elizabeth. Also survived by 11 Great-grandchildren and close friends Bud and Carol Watson. Pre-ceded in death by brother Milton Pobletts.
Pee Wee was an auto mechanic his whole life, working at Chesapeake Cadillac for 42 years. He went to work at 16 for Schmidt’s Ford, That’s where he picked up his nickname “Pee Wee”. During his first year of racing he captured the coveted NASCAR MD State Sportsman Championship. To put it mildly, Charles “Pee Wee” Pobletts was without a doubt , one special racer out of Maryland who brought countless memories to so many over a wide area for several decades. Those performances also led to his induction into the Illustrious Maryland Stock Car Racing Hall of Fame and he was honored with a prestigious “Saturday Night Hero” award from Daytona Beach, FL based Living Legends of Auto Racing.
