Charles (Chuck) David Morgan born November 7, 1934 died in his home on Saturday July 21, 2018, he was 83. Chuck was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn; brothers Merrill and William (Bill) his sons Gary and wife Rhonda, John and wife Cheryl, and Andrew and wife Jill; and his grandchildren, Liepha, Whitney, Olivia, and Grace. His son, Charles David, Jr, preceded Chuck in death.

Chuck received his PhD in mechanical engineering at Lehigh University in 1965. He spent many years working at Babcock and Wilcox as a manager of the research and development technical staff responsible for the design of nuclear reactors. As a life-long learner, Chuck loved his second career as a professor and department chair of the mechanical engineering department at the Virginia Military Institute. He also loved music, playing his clarinet, piano, and bells, reading, tennis, basketball, the Chicago Cubs, and chocolate. After retirement, Chuck was able to travel the world with his wife. Chuck’s family is proud of the difference he made in others lives with his volunteer work in Special Olympics, Meals on Wheels, and at various schools tutoring students.

A memorial service will be held on August 12th at 2pm in the Bishops Chapel at Fairhaven 7200 Third Ave, Sykesville, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Class of 1956 Endowed Scholarship Fund at Stevens Institute of Technology.
