Charles “Doug” Douglas Bruce, age 77 of Manchester, Maryland died March 6, 2014 at Lorien Taneytown.
He was born October 15, 1936 the son of Late Frederick Bruce & Late Jessie (Watkins) Bruce.
He worked as an Engineering Specialist for BGE. He retired in 1994 after 40 years. He enjoyed traveling with several American Legion and VFW sponsored Drum & Bugle Corps. He played 1st Baritone horn and marched with The Silver Liners Towson, The Yankee Rebels, and with The Archer-Epler, Reilly Raiders, Yankee Rebels and Skyliners Alumni Drum Corps.
He is survived by his Niece Jennifer Mathis and husband Charles Mathis & children Tyler Foley, Nicklous Mathis and Samantha Mathis, all of Westminster. Sister- in- Law Phyllis Bruce of Westminster. Also his lifelong friends Norman J. Corrieri, Bud Ritter and Barry Cooney.
He was Predeceased by his sister Maxine Reap, and his brothers Hal Bruce, Roger Bruce and Robert Bruce.
A Gathering of friends will be held Friday March 21, 2014 11 AM until time of Memorial Service 12 Noon at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, P.A., 1212 W Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784
