Carol Ann Wildesen, 80, of Uniontown, Maryland, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025, surrounded by family at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. Born December 21, 1944, in Sebring, Florida, she was the oldest daughter of Earl and Mildred Haenftling. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John William Wildesen.
Carol Ann graduated from Northern Garrett High School and the University of Maryland. She taught Home Economics for four years before entering law school, earning her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1973 and continued her career as an attorney for 52 years. At the time of her death, Carol Ann was employed by Stewart Title Guaranty Co. as Commercial Underwriting Counsel. Her legacy will live on through the expertise and passion she brought to the legal field, especially title work.
In addition to practicing law, Carol Ann enjoyed real estate and renovation projects and finding and restoring antiques with her husband John. She also enjoyed reading and gardening and was most passionate about cheering on her grandchildren and spending time with her extended family at Deep Creek Lake.
Carol Ann will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by two children, Justin Carter Wildesen of Uniontown, MD and Jennifer Wildesen Henley (Kevin) of Winfield, Maryland, and two grandchildren Kolt and McKenna Henley. She was preceded in death by her sister Donna Jean Cox of Newark, Delaware.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. OId Liberty Road, Sykesville, Maryland. Memorial services will begin at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Don Myers of Grace Lutheran Church officiating.
