Carol Buswell

Carol Buswell, 84, of Mt. Airy, MD, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, at Kline Hospice House.

Born September 23, 1940, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the beloved wife of the late Herman Stewart Buswell, with whom she shared 45 wonderful years.

Carol was the heart of our home, the sole caretaker of her daughter, Aimee. She devoted her life to creating warmth and love for all. Known for her artistic nature, she enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including baking cakes for special occasions, making gingerbread houses, and sewing beautiful quilts. She was a member of the Four County Quilters Guild. She always shared her gifts with everyone. Carol had a way of making people feel special and loved, and she brought joy wherever she went.

Above all, Carol cherished her family. She was a devoted mother to Lisa Grotte & husband Palmer, Kieth Buswell & wife Dana, and Aimee Buswell; a proud grandmother to 13; and a loving great-grandmother to 14. She was also deeply loved by her nieces, nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Buswell, and her four siblings.

Her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in all who knew her.

The family will receive friends Monday, September 15, 2025, from 2–4 PM and 6–8 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., Sykesville, MD. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 10 AM, with interment at Prospect U.M. Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics of Maryland or Kline Hospice House.
