Beverly Ruth (Gordon) Green of Mount Airy, MD

Passed Friday November 7, 2025, at Lorien Assisted Living, Mount Airy, MD.

She was the beloved wife of the late Roland William Green (2014) and also predeceased by her wonderful and loving daughter-in-law Kathryn Green (2006). 

Beverly was born May 11,1932 in Washington, DC. The daughter of the late John M. Gordon and the late Louise M. (Seek) Gordon.

Beverly was very proud to have won the prize as the last surviving member of her six siblings.

Surviving are daughter Karen Green of Mechanicsburg, PA and son Brian Green and daughter-in-law Elaine Malcolm of Lancaster, PA., her caring and devoted grandsons John Green (Casey) and Kevin Green (Teresa). She is also survived by her loving Step-grandsons Patrick McLeod (Kelly), Colin McLeod (Kayla), and Sean McLeod (Alaina) as well as her great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Brooks, Hannah, Jimmy, Kathryn, Lila, and Betty.

She was a well-known lifelong resident of the Mt. Airy area. She was extremely quick-witted and never short of opinions. A loving woman of faith who freely gave to others.

Beverly was a born leader who volunteered for numerous community organizations. She was a Charter member of the Mt. Airy Senior Center and past President of the Mt. Airy 55+ Club for 23 years where she organized many programs and kept everyone in line. Beverly was inducted into the Mt. Airy Hall of Fame in 2013. In addition, she was a past member of the Red Hat Society; Top of the Hill Club and Order of the Eastern Star of Mt. Airy. She was a founding member of the Florence Homemakers Club; past President of the Howard County Council of Homemakers as well as a past 4-H leader.

Beverly was an avid reader and crocheter and was well known at the public library as a book-a-day reader. She was particularly adept at reading while crocheting lap robes for Project Linus and the Walter Reed Medical Center. When not reading she had a daily habit of connecting with friends and family on the phone. Few obstacles could slow her down.

Beverly’s positive energy and unique spirit was inspiring for all who knew her and will be forever missed.

Funeral Services are private. Internment will be at Jennings Chapel Cemetery, Woodbine, MD
