Barbara Lee Hoff

Barbara Lee (Green) Hoff, 82, of Westminster, Maryland, passed away after an extended illness on November 11, 2025, surrounded by her family.

She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph D. “Buck” Hoff, who passed on April 11, 2021. Born on November 22, 1942, in Finksburg, she was the daughter of the late Sterling W. “Bob” Green and E. Mae Green of Westminster.

Barbara was the heart of her family, the matriarch, homemaker, and steady presence for multiple generations. She took over as owner of the restaurant inside the Western Maryland Stock Yards from her mother and faithfully served her community with good food and warm hospitality for many years.

She loved to travel, especially cruises and camping. One of her greatest joys was sitting on the front porch of her daughter and son-in-law’s cabin in the mountains of West Virginia. She often said she was “in Heaven” on that porch, watching wildlife and her great-grandchildren play in the woods.

She also loved attending the fair to watch her grandchildren, and later her great-grandchildren, show animals. Barbara played a huge role in helping raise all of them. She was also an active member for many years of the Winfield Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children: Dale and wife Ellen Hoff, companion Jennifer Mann of Westminster, and Donna and husband David Zepp Sr. of Westminster; her sister Vonnie Colombo of New York; and her grandchildren: Elly and husband Jacob Arbaugh of Westminster, Reggie and wife Laura Hoff of Westminster, Amanda Zepp of Westminster, and David “DJ” Zepp Jr. and significant other Kathryn Everitt of Sykesville.

She is also survived by 11½ great-grandchildren: Hunter, Emma, Lane, Lloyd, Weston, Clayton, Mina, Ada, Sicily, Kade, Landon, and Charlie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive family and friends on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral & Crematory, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd., Sykesville, MD 21784.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD 21784.
