Aubrey Joseph Stem III, of Smallwood, died Friday, February 14, 2014 at his home.
He was born September 18, 1939 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late Aubrey Joseph Stem, Jr. and the late Edith Case Stem.
He was the husband of Peggy Ann Stem (nee Foster) and the late Lora Murphy Stem.
He was a professional truck driver all his life and retired in 1990 from Yellow Freight Systems, Inc. and was a member of Union #557. He was a paratrooper in the US Army, stationed at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky from 1956-1959.
He was the father of Timothy M. Stem of Glen Burnie and the late Aubrey Joseph Stem IV.
He was the brother of- Michael H. Stem and wife Carolyn of Westminster, Thomas V. Stem and wife Lisa of Red Lion, PA and sister Susan M. Strawsburg and husband Steve of New Windsor.
Also survived by 5 step-children, one grandchild and 9 step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased also by brothers Paul Case Stem and Richard W. Stem, Sr.
Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville (Beside South Carroll High School) on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 10:00-12:00 PM; where Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon with the Rev. Christopher Carabell of Church of the Open Door in Westminster officiating.
Interment with military honors at Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD
