Amy Louise Hett

Amy Louise Hett (Cletue), 60 of Sykesville, MD passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at home surrounded by her family.

Born September 4, 1965, in Olney, MD the daughter of the late Foster C. Hett, Jr. and the late Margie Jane Hett (nee Colson); at the time of birth Amy weighed 2 Ibs 6 oz and was transferred to Holy Cross. She was a miracle child, and was diagnosed with CP at birth, but she was a fighter and strong woman and outlived the Doctors expectations by 40 years.

Amy enjoyed most was her Friday night Bingo at the Sykesville Fire Department, she especially David Freimer who she thought of as her brother. She enjoyed watching movies, listening to music and playing cards. Amy let us all know she was the Queen Bee of the family.

She is survived by her sisters Connie Miller, Darlen Howes, Donna McDaniel and husband Neil, and sister-in-law Nancy Hett all of Sykesville, MD. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents and brothers Carl E. Hett, Sr, Dennis W. Hett, Sr., foster brother Terry Keyser, niece Angie Hett, nephew Dennis W. Hett, Jr. brother in laws Ronnie Miller and Kenny Howes and Pearl Hett.

Special thanks to Bonnie Colson, who she thought of as her second mom being there for her night and day; and to Nancy Hett always by her side for over 40 years and taking care of her. Christina Hett for being a caregiver for her. Special friend Mohony for caring for her on the weekends and being her friend.

Thanks to Carroll Hospice team for being there and helping us to take her home where she wanted to be.
