  • Doris E. Naill (nee Earnst), age 77, of New Windsor, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at her home.  She was born September 30, 1934 in Frederick, MD.  She was the wife of the late Ellsworth E. Naill.  She was a seamstress for Hartz & Co. in Frederick, MD.  She was the mother of Walter and Pam Naill of Woodsboro, MD, Eugene Naill of New Windsor  and Darrin and Joy Naill Westminster, and Eddie and Gail Naill of Union Bridge, MD, Kathy and Richard Yingling of Union Bridge, and Sandy Naill of Reisterstown, MD.  Sister of- Ruth Flora of Poolesville, MD, and Ruby Wolf of Frederick.  Friend of Hank Hahn of Harford County.  Also survived numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Cunningham, William A.
  • William A. Cunningham, age 83, of New Windsor, died Monday, January 09, 2012 at Lorien Nursing Home in Mt. Airy, MD.  He was born March 6, 1928 the son of the late Howard F. Cunningham and late Anna Caroline Patterson Cunningham.  He was the husband of Elena D. Cunningham (nee Tomarchio).  He was a retired Specialist Five (E-5) in the US Army for 20 years.  He was in the military police and engineers and a member of the Calvary.  He served 3 tours in Korea, 2 tours in Germany and 1 tour in France.  He was the father of Diana Gray and her husband Chip of New Windsor.  Grandfather of Forest, Hunter and Breanna Gray.  He was the youngest of ten children whom all predeceased him.  Catholic Prayer service will be held Friday, January 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School), with the Deacon John Martin of St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Nye, Carl
  • Mr. Carl Nye 68 of Woodbine, MD, died January 11, 2012 at Montgomery County General Hospital.  He was the spouse of  Edith (Layton) Nye.  He was born August 4, 1943 in Pittston, PA.  The son of the late Carl H. Nye and the late Lillian (Randazza) Sperry.  Was employed for 2 years with DC police Department and worked for the Veteran’s Administration in Washington D.C. for 41 years.  He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and fought in Vietnam.  Surviving in addition to his wife are Daughter and Son-in-law Angela Maria and Billy Joe Delph of Woodbine, MD  Brother Robert and wife Debbie Sperry of Syracuse, NY.  Brother John and wife Diane Pierson of New Jersey.  4 Granddaughters Anita, Wendye, Joann(Jo Jo Mo Mo) and Mary Delph.  Funeral Services will take place Saturday January 14, 2012 10:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784.  Interment will be in Jennings Chapel Cemetery, Woodbine, MD.  The Family will receive friends on Friday January 13, 2011 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.

  • Bruce E. Tyler, age 49, of Westminster, died on Tuesday January  10, 2012 He  was born April 22, 1962 in Baltimore City, Maryland the son of the late Joseph Tyler and the late Charlotte Elizabeth Tyler (nee Dimick).  He was a printer.  He was the father of Alexandra Elizabeth Tyler.  He was the brother of JoAnn E. Clarke and husband James, Sr. of Westminster, Ronald G. Tyler and Wife Mary of North Carolina, Gary J. Tyler of Abington, Janet E. Shimek and husband James of Westminster and John W. Tyler of Westminster.  Uncle of Laura Harvey, James Clarke, Jr., Christopher Wessel, Kaitlyn Shimek and Kyle Shimek.  Memorial Services will be held Monday January 16, 2012 10:00 AM at St. Benjamins Church  700 Kriders Cemetery Rd. Westminster, MD 21158.

Duerling, James R.
  • James R. Duerling 85 of Hampstead, MD, died Thursday January 12, 2012 at his home in Hampstead, MD.  He was the spouse of the late Ruby L. Boughan Duerling.  He was born April 14, 1926 in Baltimore, MD.  The son of the late Martin B. Duerling and late Nellie Viola (Sentz) Duerling.  He worked for Iron Worker Local #16 and was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy.  He was a member of Reisterstown Baptist Church.  Preceded in death by his sister Virginia Sellers.  Surviving are Sons and Daughter-in-laws Robert L. and Karen Duerling of Westminster, C. Scott  and Karin Duerling of Red Lion PA.  Five Grandchildren and one Great-grandchild.  Friends may call Sunday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. DeRosa, Jack L.
  • Jack L. DeRosa, age 76, of Sykesville MD died Sunday January 15th 2012 of complications due to brain cancer. Mr. DeRosa was born in Cumberland, MD., April 11th, 1935. He is the son of the late Mary Bowman and late John DeRosa. He is the husband of Marlene DeRosa. Jack was a meat manager for many years and went on to become store manager of several Giant Food stores. He retired in 1991. Jack was the father of 5 children, Rosemary, Michael, Christopher, David and Elizabeth. He is the grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  He is survived by his sister Antoinette Hyatt.  Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM, where Funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:00 am with Pastor Clark Baisden officiating. Zampino, Charles J.
  • Charles Joseph Zampino, a strong Christian believer, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Tranquility Assisted Living in Frederick, MD. He was 89 years old and the loving husband of the late Mildred Claire Zampino.  He was born on November 11, 1922 in Berwick, PA, the son of the late Vitale Thomas Zampino and the late Josephine Maffa Zampino.  Mr. Zampino was a U.S. Army Staff Sergeant during World War II, serving in France and Germany in 1944-1945, was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge, and was awarded the Purple Heart and many other military honors from both the French and U.S. governments.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #11 in Frederick, MD.  Beginning at age twelve, he apprenticed in a tailor shop studying furs and tailoring. He went on to study and graduate from schools of fashion and design on Philadelphia, Paris, and the Traphagen School of Fashion in New York. During his long career he worked in design and was the production manager for Seymour Fox, Calvin Klein and Ilie Wacs, all in New York.  Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Bishop Philip and Jean Zampino; three grandchildren, David Allen Zampino, Sr. of Delavan, WI.; Bonnie Lynn Zampino of Harpers Ferry, WV;, and Mark Andrew Zampino, Sr., of Charles Town, WV., sixteen great grandchildren; one sister, Ernestine Cicini of Berwick, PA, and many nieces and nephews.  Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 21, 2012, at The Life in Jesus Chapel, 13830 Saint Benedict Way (near Unionville). Friends may call on Friday from 7-9 PM at The Life in Jesus Chapel.  Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15, Frederick, following the funeral service.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to The Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.

  • M. Rachel Campbell (nee Esworthy), age 90, of Westminster, MD,  died Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Westminster, MD.  She was born September 1, 1921 in Frederick County, Maryland the daughter of the late J. Howard Esworthy and the late Margaret Helen Black Esworthy.  She was a Clerk and Aide for Child Care.  She was a Member of Nazarene Hanover Church.  She was the wife of the late John H. Campbell.  She was the sister of Herbert Henry Esworthy and wife Elaine of Westminster, and Leona Utz and husband Kenneth of Westminster and the late Bessie Jenkins, late Eileen Becker, late Anna Stair, late Sylvia Jenkins, late Frances Haines, late Nellie Bond, late Clifford S. Esworthy,  late J. Roger Esworthy and late Grace Wolf, late Ella Mae Baurerlein.  Aunt of Brenda Nunn of Manchester, David Utz, Sr. of New Oxford, PA, Karen Cook of Manchester, Terri Gontarek  of Westminster.  Also survived by several Great nieces and nephews.  Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W.   • Arta Frizzell Gartrell 88 of Taylorsville, MD, died Friday, January 20, 2011 at the Dove House in Westminster.  She was the spouse of the late Riley Thomas Gartrell.  She was born March 9, 1923 in Carroll County MD the Daughter of the late Harry Frizzell and late Helen (Harn) Frizzell.  Mrs. Gartrell was retired from Random House. She enjoyed Cooking and Gardening.  Surviving her are Daughter and Son-in-law Betty and Joseph Boone of Taylorsville, Daughter Patricia Gallucci of Frederick, Son Tommy Gartrell (Riley T. Jr.) of  Taylorsville   Daughter Vanessa Chrisafis of Frederick, Son and Daughter-in-law Ashley and Melissa Gartrell of Union Bridge.  8 Grandchildren: Nathan, Garrett, Cole, Juliana, Aaron, Erica, Jessica, Holly 6 Great-grandchildren and 4 on the way  Bridget, Rachel, Austin, Riley, Anna and Sera.  Funeral Services will take place Tuesday January 24, 2012 at 10 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd.   • Louie C. “Collie (Tritt) Middleton, 89 of Mt. Airy, died Saturday January 21, 2012 at Pleasant View.  She was the spouse of the late James D. Middleton.  She was born June 14, 1922 in Cullowhee, NC the daughter of the late Roy Lee Tritt and the late Fannie Burr (Morrow) Tritt.  She was a Dietary Manager for Pleasant View. She also had numerous hobbies.  She is preceded in death by an Infant Daughter Melba Morine Middleton, 2 Sisters and a 1 brother.  Surviving her are 3 Daughters and their spouses Velma and Wade Jackson of San Mateo, FL, Carol and James Cornett of Westminster, SC, Alma K. and Tim Weamer of San Mateo, FL 2 Sons and their spouses David L and Barbara Middleton of Sat Suma, FL, Douglas and Frances Middleton of Westminster, MD.  13 Grandchildren, 23 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild on the way. Sisters Robinette Lasley of Palm Desert, CA Marcel Moore of Winter Haven, FL Sister-in-law Audrey Tritt of Cullowhee, NC.  Also Survived by numerous nieces, nephews and an extended family and Loved Ones at Pleasant View.  Funeral Services will take place Saturday January 28, 2012 10 AM at Melton Funeral Home, 59 Cherry St. Sylva, NC 28779 with the Rev.   • Douglas Keith Helms, age 56, of Taylorsville, died Sunday, January 29, 2012.  He was born December 18, 1955 in Baltimore City, Maryland, the son of Anne Ayres Helms and the late Jackson Arthur Helms.  He was a program manager for the Department of Justice, ATF.  He was the husband of Cherri Lyn Helms.  He was the father of Heather Napoli and Meredith Helms.  Also survived by 2 sisters.  Private Services.  Memorial Contributions can be made to: Angel Flights-East or NRA Youth Program.

Miller, Josephine A.
  • Josephine Ann “Mickey” Miller (nee Nitsch), age 76, of Sykesville, died Monday February 13, 2012 at her home.  She was born November 9, 1935 in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of the late Edward F. Nitsch and late Marie Reynolds Nitsch.  She was a homemaker.  She was the wife of Carl F. Miller of Sykesville.  She was the mother of Linda A. Hatcha of Brooklyn, MD, Gail M. Mason of Sykesville, MD and Carl E. Miller of New Windsor, MD.  Grandmother of Sean & Stephanie McNutt, Garrett Mason and Tiffany Miller. A gathering in memory of Ann will be held at a later date.   • Luther Wesley Blickenstaff, Sr., age 84, of Randallstown, died Monday, February 13, 2012 at Augsburg Lutheran Home, Baltimore, MD.  He was the husband of the late Doris Mary Blickenstaff  (nee White).  He was born September 20, 1927 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late Wilbur Blickenstaff, Sr. and the late Lena Gontrum Blickenstaff.  He was a CPA.  Father of Luther Wesley Blickenstaff, Jr. and Denise Meads and husband Thomas, dear brother of the late Wilbur and Joseph Blickenstaff and the late Floy Itnyre.  Loving grandfather of Matthew, Zachary and Luke Meads, also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W.   • Hazel (Poff) Thompson Leedy 90 of Randallstown, died Sunday February 19, 2012 at Chapel Hill Nursing Home.  She was the spouse to the late Roby E. Thompson.  She was born March 6, 1921 in Roanoke, VA the daughter of the late Posey Poff and the late Era (Puckett) Turner.  She was a Seamstress at Rosewood and numerous other Sewing Factories.  In her earlier years she enjoyed waitressing at numerous restaurants , gardening and crocheting.  Surviving are Son and Daughter-in-law Roby and Barbara Thompson of Hampstead, Daughter and Son-in-law Kay J. and James C. Leedy of Randallstown, Brother Clayton Poff of Hampstead, Sister Geneva Greene of Westminster, Grandchildren, Ronald Thompson, Kimberly Leedy, Great Grandchildren John Thompson, Bridget Thompson, Michael O’Halloran, Ashley Brady, Jimmy Lee Brady and Great-great Grandchild Aidan Brady.   Preceded in death by Sister Marie Carroll and brothers Carlton Poff, Hubert Poff and Sister Dorothy Poff.  Funeral Services will be conducted  Thursday February 24, 2012 11 AM  at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematorty, PA., 1212 W.   • Gail W. Kline, Jr. born on March 6, 1939 has left our world to be with his heavenly father on Sunday 19th 2012 at 9:17 PM he was 72 years old.  He was preceded in death by his first wife Exa Iann Kline his parents Ella (Lind) Kline and Gail W. Kline, Sr. and Granddaughter Taylor Mercer.  He is survived by his current wife W. Gail Kline and his children Sabre Kline of Westminster, Kevin and wife Marilyn Kline of Enterprise, AL, Patrick and wife Mary Kline of Curtis Bay, MD, Tanja Zirkle of Eldersburg, Kim and husband Casey Mercer of Woodbine, Chris and wife Vicky Forman of Westminster.  Grandchildren Randy and Amy Kline, Brent, Alice and Shelby Mercer, Rachel and Justin Gifford, Stephany and Frankie Forman, Jessica and Lee Zirkle and numerous nieces and nephews.  Gail W.  Kline, Jr. spent 25 years and 6 months in the US Air Force as an Avionics Communications Technician then later retired from Rhode and Schwartz and Circuit City.  He enjoyed Fishing and Bird Watching.  Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 23, 2012  2:00 PM at Winfield Bible Chapel, 5407 Woodbine Rd.   • Dorothy Mae (Miller) Chaney 93 of Franklinton, NC, died Saturday February 18, 2012 in Raleigh NC. She was born February 2, 1919 in Carroll County MD the daughter of the late John Miller and the late Mary Carr Miller.  She was employed by USF&G in Baltimore for over 30 years.  She was a member of Lakeview/Journey Christian Church Apopka, FL for 25 years.  Surviving are Sister Thelma Cerniglia of Timonium and  Brother Dahl Miller of Mt. Crawford, VA.  Special Friends and Caregivers Pamela and John King of Franklinton, NC Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews  Preceded in death by Sister Margaret Brothers William and James.  Funeral Services will take place Friday February 24, 2012 11 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W.   • Edith (Gassner) Andrews 87 of Westminster formerly of Silver Spring MD, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Golden Living Nursing and Rehabilitation.  She was the spouse of Robert Bruce Andrews.  She was born June 2, 1924 in Rosebud, MI.  The daughter of the late John and Laura Marie ( Henkel) Gessner.  She was a Registered Nurse at Doctors Hospital, Washington, DC and the Federal Reserve Board in Washington DC.  And Dr. Winschel in Silver Spring, MDShe enjoyed Reading, Gardening, Sewing and was very faithful to the Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed singing together with her Four Sisters.  Surviving in addition to his wife are his Children: Robert B. and wife Cheryl of Lakeland, FL, Kathy and husband Tom Schmidt of New York, NY, Sue and husband Steve Bergmann of Westminster. Sister Eloise Haubein of Lockwood, MI  also Survived by numerous Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren.  Memorial Services will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Gilchrist Hospice 555 W.
