Nellie F. Jones, 81, formerly of Middle River,
Baltimore, died Saturday evening, April 17, 2004, at Chicora Medical Center,
Chicora, Pa.
Born Feb. 7, 1923, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of Harvey Munshaur
and Gertrude Lease. She was the wife of the late Edgar Smith Jr. and Francis
Jones.
She was a graduate of Mount Airy High School, Mount Airy and was retired from
the credit department of Montgomery Wards, Baltimore. She was an avid bowler.
She was of the Protestant faith.
Through the years she had lived in Mount Airy, New Windsor, Lisbon and Middle
River before moving to Chicora Medical Center in Chicora, Pa.
Surviving are son Wayne McArthur Smith of Mars, Pa., granddaughters Britta
Manges and husband Brad and Marissa and Keira Smith, all of Mars, Pa.; sisters
Dolly Dayhoff of Lisbon and Mary Josephine Coady of Frederick; brothers Kenneth
Munshaur, Lawrence Munshaur and Alton Munshaur, all of New Windsor;
daughter-in-law Sheila Cress Smith; sisters-in-law Jane Smith Beaver of
Frederick, Lorraine Smith Ridgely and husband Charles of Mount Airy, Charlotte
Smith Mullinix and husband Richard of Woodbine; and a number of nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by brother Carlton E. Munshaur.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Burrier-Queen Funeral
Home, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield, with the Rev. O.F. "Bud"
Kibbe officiating. Interment will follow in Moreland Memorial Park, Baltimore.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
