Charles Edgar Cowley, Sr., 50 of New Windsor, MD, died Suddenly January 18, 2006 at his home in New Windsor, MD. He was the spouse of Deborah Ann Allen Cowley of New Windsor, MD. He was born December 16, 1955 in Baltimore, MD the son of Edgar Samuel Cowley of Lakeland, FL and the late Barbara Gertrude Newton Cowley. Mr. Cowley was a supervisor for Baltimore Public Works . He was the Assistant Scout Master for Winfield Troop 733. Surviving in addition to his wife and father are Daughter and Son-in-law: Sherry and Craig Brannon, Sr. of Littlestown, PA, Sons: Charles Edgar Cowley, Jr. and Samuel Leroy Cowley both of New Windsor. Carl Otto Garver, age 77, of Woodbine, died Wednesday January 18, 2006 at Continuum Care in Sykesville, MD. Born January 20, 1928 in Carroll County, he was the son of the late Martha Louise and the late Carl Edward Garber. He was a farmer most of his life, but also retired from Springfield Hospital Center after 25 years of service in the maintenance Dept. Surviving are his son and daughter in law Duane Carl and Debra Garver of Winfield and granddaughter Angelique Renee Garver of Sykesville. Sister Betty Freyman of Westminster, sisters and brother in laws Virginia and Joe Battaglia, Patricia and James Frankton of Sykesville, brothers Charles Garber of Iowa, Robert Garber of Winfield and brother and sister in law James and Boots Garber of Finksburg and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother Thomas E. Garber and brother in law Charles “Bud” Freyman. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Merle Davis Quesenberry Kirkner, 77 of Westminster, MD, died Thursday January 19, 2006 at her home in Westminster, MD. She was the spouse of Albert Landis Kirkner. She was born March 2, 1928 in Indian Valley, VA the daughter of the late Mark Fuston Quesenberry and late Woodsby Ella Marshall Quesenberry. She was a homemaker. Had worked for the Baltimore County Schools in Food Service. She loved Shopping, Flowers, Gardening, and Dogs and was Co-founder of Al Kirkner and Sons also known as ABAR. Surviving are Son and Daughter-in-law Albert and Sybil Kirkner of Georgia, Son and Daughter-in-law Benny and Janice Kirkner of Westminster, Son and Daughter-in-law Richard and Daphne of Annapolis, MD Daughter and Son-in-law Patricia and Rick Barnes of Westminster, MD Brothers Vinton, Johnny and Bitley Quesenberry. Mary Stowell Dashiell, 88 of Sykesville, MD , died on Saturday January 28, 2006 at the home of her daughter in Sykesville. She was the spouse of the late Richard H. Dashiell. Mrs. Dashiell was born July 13, 1917 in Baltimore MD the daughter of the late Daniel W. and Mary Wolff Stowell. Mrs. Dashiell retired from Proctor and Gamble in 1982. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church for 58 years and is now a member of Elders Baptist Church. Surviving her are Son and Daughter-in-law William and Janet Brooks of Anthem, AZ and Daughter and Son-in-law Marilyn and Bob Koogle of Eldersburg. 7 Grandchildren and 9 Great-grandchildren. Westminster. She was
the spouse of Salvator Laurenzano. Mrs. Laurenzano was born
January 24, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late Ernesto
and late Ida Catalucci Ricco. Mrs.
Laurenzano was a homemaker and enjoyed Cooking.

Mr. Robert D. Scarborough, Sr., 87 of
Eldersburg, MD, died Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at home.
He was the spouse of Evelyn Lewis Scarborough of
Eldersburg, MD. Mr. Scarborough was born October 5, 1918 in
Harford County, MD. The
son of the late Robert C. and late Rachel E. Little Scarborough.
Mr. Scarborough was retired from United Insurance where he
was an insurance agent. He was a Deacon Emeritus at Elders Baptist
Church where he was a member.
He was a devoted Family man and Grandfather.
Surviving in addition to his wife are Son and
Daughter-in-law Robert D. Scarborough, Jr. and Ana M. Scarborough
of Eldersburg, Son and Daughter-in-law Gary L. and Theresa D. |
| Charles Lon Parker, 55 of Mt. Airy, MD , died Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at Carroll Hospital Center after a brief illness. He was the spouse of Debbie Mary Robertson Parker. He was born May 25, 1950 in Sylva, North Carolina. The son of the late Charles B. Parker and the late Alleen M. Teague Parker. Mr. Parker worked for over 30 years with Essroc Cement Company in Frederick, MD. He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, and avid Hunter and Fisher, and enjoyed Photography. Mr. Parker was a Soccer, Basketball, Baseball and Softball Coach for his Children. Surviving in addition to his wife are Son: Jason Charles Parker of Mt. Airy, Daughter: Megan Alleen Parker of Mt. Airy. Brother and sister-in-law: Ronald L. and Debbie Parker of Finksburg. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by infant Twins: Eric and Christopher Parker. He was born May 10, 1931 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late Augustus Wild and the late Marie Wille Wild. He was the husband of Anita M. Wild (nee Simon). He was an Electrical Technician for Westinghouse Co. and MD Science Center. He was in the Army during the Korean War from 1951-1954. He was a member of St. Johns R.C. Church in Westminster. He was a member of the K of C. He was the father of Lawrence & Bernadette Wild, Richard Wild, Timothy and Lisa Wild, Virginia and David Hoffman and Thomas and Michelle Wild. Frederick William Burgess, 77 of Beverly Hills, FL Formerly of Carroll County, MD., died Sunday March 12, 2006 at his daughters home in Westminster. He was the spouse of over 50 years to Dolores Elizabeth Edmondson Burgess. He was born August 9, 1928 in New Market, MD the son of the late Charles Thurman Burgess and Lyda Anna Kelly Burgess. Mr. Burgess worked 33 years as a Computer Services Manager for Allied Signal. He served in both the US Air Force and US Army. He was a member of the Westminster Moose and also of The Sykesville Post of the American Legion. He enjoyed Boating, Crabbing and going on Cruises. He was a Home Improvement Specialist. Other hobbies included spending time with his grandchildren and his lawn. enjoyed long drives in the country, bluegrass music, and his cats.

Milton DE., died Saturday June 10, 2006.
He was the former spouse of Audrey Hajek of Holbrook, NY.
He was born February 27, 1919 in Rego Park, NY the son of the late
James and late Rosie Hajek. He
enjoyed collecting Stamps with the Sussex County Stamp Club,
Windsurfing, and was a Member of the Polar Bear Plunge Club, Loved
the beach and ran a 5k race in his 80’s. He was a Maj. in the US
Army before retiring and then served the federal government as a
civilian. While in the military he was an Infantry Unit Tank

Hospital. He was born
February 9, 1927 in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of the late
George Walter Harrison and Margaret Della Hall Harrison.
He was the husband of Catherine Harrison (nee Welsh), to
whom he was married for 47 years.
Mr. Harrison retired from Howard W. Clark, Inc. trucking
company where he worked for 39 years and Westminster National Bank
where he worked several years as a courier.
He was a member of Local 639 Teamsters Union.
He served as a corporal in the United States Army during WW
II. Surviving in
addition to his wife are five children: Jon Harrison and wife
Sandy of Mt. Airy, Darryl Harrison and wife Cindy of Woodbine, Tim
Harrison of Woodbine, Shelley Munger and husband Michael of Front
Royal, VA, and George Harrison of Woodbine.
He is also survived by grandchildren: Nick Harrison, Ben
Harrison, Brittany Harrison, Dustin Harrison, Garrett Harrison,
Amber Munger; step granddaughter Christina Munger and one brother
Kenny Harrison of Woodbine. He
was preceded in death by five brothers, Walter Harrison, Allen
Harrison, Calvin Harrison, Leroy Harrison and Paul Harrison.

for 24 years as a welder/mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing,

| Sara Graves-Baker died on
Friday, October 20, 2006 at Westminster–Canterbury in Virginia
Beach, VA. She was born on August 26, 1912 in College Park,
GA to R. Jefferson Graves, Sr. and Hattie Allen Graves. In
1918, her family moved to Baltimore, MD where she graduated from
Forest Park High School in 1930. She married Lloyd Baker on
December 7, 1935. After her husband's retirement in 1963,
they built a home on the Baker farm near Mt. Airy, MD where they
lived until 1983 when they moved to Westminster-Canterbury in
Virginia Beach. In
addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her
brother R. Jefferson Graves, Jr., and sisters, Marie Graves and
Dorothy Bratton. She is survived by her son, John Baker and
his wife Sharon of Newport News, VA; daughter, Donna Baker and her
husband Blake of Carlisle, MA; six grandchildren and five great
grandchildren, three nieces and one nephew.
A graveside service will be conducted at Mt. Olive
Cemetery, Mt. Airy, MD on Saturday, October 28 at 11:00 AM with
her grandson Andrew Baker officiating. The family will

| Rev. Irving Thomas Basil, Sr.
age 81, of Pikesville, completed his work here on earth after a
two year battle with cancer on Sunday October 22, 2006 at home.
Entering Heaven he finally met his Savior face to face.
He was welcomed by his parents, other family, friends and
heavenly hosts who rejoiced upon his arrival.
Irving leaves behind Jane Stuart (nee Parker) Basil his
beloved wife of 54 years; there dearly loved children, son Irving
Thomas Basil, Jr. of Arnold, MD, daughters Lori Brown of
Eldersburg and Leslie Payne of Annapolis; and their spouses, nine
precious grandchildren, and his beloved sister Lillian Klein of
Baltimore. One day they will all be together again in Glory. He
was born September 3, 1925 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late
Irving Thomas Basil and the late Mary Ethel Basil (nee Miller).
He served in the US Navy from 1943-1946 WWII Pacific
Theater. He was an
Electrical Engineer for Westinghouse Electric Co. and retired in
1985. He was a retired

John William Hogan, 86 of Westminster formerly of Randallstown, MD, died Wednesday October 25, 2006 at Carroll Lutheran Village Health Care Center. He was the spouse of Mary Regina Fleming Hogan of Westminster. He was born September 18, 1920 in Hartford City, Indiana the son of the of the late Wilbur Hogan and Merle Woolard Hogan. He was retired after 22 years with the Social Security Administration. Prior to that he had worked for several different breweries. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific in the Army Air Corp. Mr. Hogan was a Eucharistic Minister and CCD Teacher at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church. Surviving in addition to his spouse are Children and their spouses; John Michael and Deborah L. Gamrecki (later divorced); son John Jr. predeceased her in 1988.
